Match scorekeeping with Mingle Sport

There are two ways to do match scorekeeping:

  1. Simple scorekeeping: only adding goals and assists

  2. Advanced scorekeeping: tracking substitutes and minutes played

If you want to share realtime match updates you can start a liveblog. We advise to use the match timer when starting a liveblog as that adds the exact minute to all your updates.

How can I do simple scorekeeping?

Simple scorekeeping allows you to edit the score and add goal scorers and assists for your own team.

You can start keeping track of goals and assists by these 4 simple steps:

  1. Create a match

  2. Open the match

  3. In the overview tab add goals with the (+) button

  4. Add who scored and who gave the assist by clicking Who scored?

You can do this at any time. Also after the match. The score you provided during the match will be seen as the final score 150 minutes after the start time of the match. You can always edit this.

How can I do advanced scorekeeping?

Advanced scorekeeping allows you to edit the score, use a match timer, add goals and assits, cards and substitutes.

Step 1: confirm your match setup

When you first use the match timer, we’ll ask you to confirm your match setup. Select the duration and the break setup. You only have to set it up once. When needed, you can change it per match.

  1. Create a match

  2. Open the match

  3. Start the match timer

  4. Save your match settings (Select time per period, and amount of periods)

Step 2: add your starting lineup

The starting lineup is needed in order to calculate minutes played. Also add your substitutes in the starting lineup. This allows you to accurately track minutes played when substituting a player. You can do as many substitutes as you want.

  1. Create your line-up or use the latest know line-up

  2. Adjust where needed

  3. Confirm the starting line-up, don’t forget to add the substitutions

Step 3: start the match timer

After confirming the starting line-up the games will start. The player list on overview will be live updated with the minutes played per player. You can pause the match timer if there’s a long break on the field.

  1. Timer is started. Pause the timer when needed

  2. On the overview page you will see the minutes played per player live

  3. The timer will stop automatically on the time stated in the match settings of the team

  4. When the timer is stopped the period can be ended by a user, when you open the app you will get a haptic nudge

  5. Start the next period by pressing the play button

  6. You can end the match by selecting end match when the final period has ended

Step 4: add goals and assists

You can add goals and assists before, during and after the match. If you don’t know who scored you can leave it blank to fill it in later. When a liveblog is started all goals will also be published on the liveblog and user that are in the team or following people from the team will get live updates on the score.

  1. Use the (+) and (-) buttons on the overview page to add goals

  2. Or use the blue (+) button and select goal to add goals

  3. Optional, select goal scorer and assists

  4. Confirm

Step 5: keep track of substitutions

You can substitute players when you have started the timer. The minutes played for the player that is out of the field will be paused. The minutes played for the player brought on the pitch will be started. We will also show a substitution icon. If a player is substituted multiple times, we will add the number of times besides the substitution icon.

  1. Add a substitution by clicking on the blue (+) button

  2. Select substitution

  3. Select the player you want to substitute

  4. Select the substitute that you want to bring on the pitch

  5. Confirm

Note. Formation changes and changes of positions within the formation will be available in the future

Step 6: add yellow and red cards

Once the yellow or red card are confirmed, it will be added to the player list on overview. If a player gets a yellow card twice, or a red card the playing time will stop for this user. The cards will be available as a leaderboard in the app in the near future.

  1. Add a card by clicking on the blue (+) button

  2. Select Yellow or Red card

  3. Select the player that received the card

  4. Confirm

Liveblog

If you have started a liveblog for a match then all the scorekeeping actions will be also added to the liveblog. So every yellow card, substitution and goal will be displayed on the liveblog. People will be notified of the key moments. If you didn’t start a liveblog the scorekeeping will be done on the overview page and people will not get notified during the match.
